2015 FANATIC RIPPER - Photo and graphics remain unchanged from previous years.
Start them young with the Ripper and introduce them into a sport they can do for a lifetime. Using an extensive knowledge base, Fanatic has developed the ultimate setup for the next generation of Windsurfing heroes. Available in both the classic 102 l and the larger 120 l for taller, older children, the overall design revolves around a user-friendly performance and all weather control.
Plenty of width ensures stability and light wind planing abilities. In addition to this, the Ripper offers a fast top speed, fitting for rapidly advancing sailors or parents looking to pass on and demonstrate their Windsurfing knowledge.
A wide range of footstrap options and removable centre fin make the Ripper highly adaptable and the perfect board to grow with. The Softdeck is kind on the knees while offering new riders all the grip they could possibly want.
Fanatic Brand Manager and former PWA rider Craig Gertenbach, Fanatic UK agent Nik Baker, and shaper Sebastian Wenzel, have 7 children between them, so the Ripper’s concept and development was based around their very own real teaching experiences, research and feedback. The perfect board / rig combo to pass on the passion for Windsurfing to the next generation.
Confidence is key and the Ripper gives the younger generation as much as they could dream for.
The perfect young Ripper’s board and rig solution for the next generation of heroes. 2 sizes, 102 litres and all-new 120 litre option, boast compact balanced planshapes with easy-to-use performance scoop and smooth power v rocker line for all-weather control. Stable enough for total beginners, there is plenty of light wind, early planing grunt and top-speed control for fast-learners and even eager parents to pass on some skills. A selection of footstrap positions and removable centre fin widen the wind range, and the total Softdeck keeps sessions fun and comfortable for youngsters hooked on the healthiest sport alive.
Between them, Brand Manager and former PWA rider Craig Gertenbach and Shaper Sebastian Wenzel have 5 personal testers of their own and plenty of experience teaching kids. They know how hard it is to find the right rig and board combination for that is fun and easy to use. With nearly 50-yrs of combined sailing knowledge they’ve taken a personal interest in developing the right shape and package that passes on the passion they have for the sport.

HIGH RESISTANCE SKIN
High resistance composite technology – an optimum weight and durable construction for every-day use. A thick, durable outer skin gives the board hull a high strength, ding and impact resistance. Strategic use of glass reinforcements ensures an adequate stiffness. Used on the standard Shark, as well as on the Viper/Ripper ranges in combination with a user friendly EVA deck.
